This handbook establishes the requirements for the selection of semiconductor devices used in the design and manufacture of military equipment. The purpose of this handbook is as follows:
- To provide equipment designers and manufacturers with lists of semiconductor devices considered to be standard for military applications.
- To control and minimize the variety of semiconductor devices used by military activities in order to facilitate effective logistic support of equipment in the field; to maximize economic support of, and to concentrate improvement on, production of the semiconductor devices listed in this handbook.
